Truck Drivers Were Unaware of the SBU Operation ‘Web’ During Drone Attacks

водії фур, використані в операції «Павутина», не знали про плани СБУ

Russian truck drivers involved in transporting drones for attacks on military airfields in Russia had no information about the details of the SBU operation called ‘Web.’ This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with an American television channel.

How the ‘Web’ Operation Took Place

According to Zelensky, the drivers were performing their usual work and did not know that drones were hidden in the trucks. For the operation, the drones were concealed in containers with retractable lids. Once the truck arrived at the designated point, the lid was opened remotely, allowing the drone to take off directly from the vehicle’s cargo area.

“I really wanted to use only what we produce, and for the division to be very clear,” he said.

The president emphasized that only Ukrainian weapons were used in this special operation.

Results of the Drone Attack on Russian Airfields

On June 1, Ukrainian drones hidden in trucks carried out a massive attack on Russian military airfields. According to the SBU, the operation resulted in the destruction of over 40 Russian military aircraft. Meanwhile, according to analytical assessments from the British International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), published on June 6, the destruction of 12 aircraft has been confirmed, two were damaged, and experts were unable to verify the status of seven other aircraft.
