Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine will provide the United States with evidence of Russia’s violation of the moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure. During a briefing, he noted that the most important issue is monitoring the situation.

Zelensky mentioned that he has asked the Ukrainian Minister of Defense to provide the US with all available evidence of Russia’s failure to uphold its commitments as a party obligated to adhere to the moratorium. The President emphasized that until consultations with third countries, such as Turkey and Saudi Arabia, are completed, the US remains Ukraine’s primary contact partner.

“We have learned that the US will conduct consultations with both Turkey and Saudi Arabia regarding their readiness to monitor. I do not yet know the results of these negotiations,” he added.

In response to statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding alleged Ukrainian strikes on Russia’s energy infrastructure, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denies these reports. On March 28, the General Staff emphasized that the Ukrainian Defense Forces strictly adhere to the agreements reached with partners to cease attacks on energy facilities, conducting fire only against military targets of the Russian army.

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused Ukraine of violating the moratorium on shelling energy facilities, stating that Russia reserves the right not to adhere to these obligations.

On March 25, the Kremlin also announced that the moratorium on strikes against the energy system would be in effect for 30 days, starting from March 18, 2025. At the same time, in the event of a breach of obligations by either party, the other party has the right to consider itself free from adhering to this moratorium.
