The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that it has not received any specific concepts or proposals for settling the war from the Russian Federation. This was reported by the spokesperson of the Ministry, Georgiy Tikhiy, while commenting on the statements made by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio following his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Absence of Official Proposals from Russia

At a briefing in Kyiv on July 11, Georgiy Tikhiy noted that neither he nor other official representatives of Ukraine had seen any documents or concepts discussed during the meeting between Lavrov and Rubio. According to him, if such materials are provided to the Ukrainian side, the Ministry is ready to consider them.

“In order to express my stance, I need to see this concept. As of now, neither I nor, as far as I know, anyone else in Ukraine has seen this concept. If it is handed to us, we will study it.”

Tikhiy emphasized that instead of concepts, Ukraine faces “specific Russian strikes on our cities and communities and daily terror” every day. He also stressed that Russia’s actions clearly demonstrate its true position regarding peace.

Rubio’s Statements and Further Steps by the U.S.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated after negotiations with Lavrov that he had received new ideas regarding the settlement of the war and intends to pass them on to U.S. President Donald Trump for further discussion. Rubio noted that these proposals do not guarantee immediate peace but could serve as a basis for future negotiations. He also emphasized the need to create a “roadmap” for resolving the conflict, although he did not disclose details of these initiatives.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced an important statement regarding Russia for July 14. According to media reports, the meeting between Rubio and Lavrov lasted about 50 minutes; during this time, the parties discussed issues related to Ukraine, Iran, Syria, and other global problems.

The negotiations took place just hours after another massive attack by Russia on Kyiv, resulting in at least two deaths and 22 injuries. U.S. President Donald Trump had previously harshly criticized Russia’s actions in Ukraine and promised to increase military assistance to Kyiv.

The last meeting between Rubio and Lavrov took place in February in Saudi Arabia, and they also maintain regular phone contacts. After visiting Malaysia, Lavrov plans to head to North Korea, where Russia continues to develop military cooperation.
