The former deputy has not publicly commented on the court’s decision.
The Ministry of Justice filed the corresponding lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court on February 24.
In November 2024, a court in Ukraine sentenced former people’s deputy Oleg Tsaryov in absentia to eight years in prison in a case concerning the financing of Russia’s armed aggression. In May 2022, Tsaryov was also sentenced in absentia to 12 years of imprisonment. He was found guilty of public calls for changes to the borders and state border of Ukraine and for violent changes to the constitutional order.
