A loud private party took place in Kyiv to celebrate the christening of the son of one of the city’s most famous developers, Vagif Aliyev. The celebration, which gathered the city’s elite, was attended by the mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, as well as his close associate, Arthur Palatny, the head of the executive committee of the “UDAR” party and former member of the Ukrainian parliament.

Who was spotted among the guests
The celebration took place in one of the prestigious restaurants on the banks of the Dnipro River and attracted the attention of not only journalists but also the public. Among the guests were well-known millionaires and billionaires who have influenced the capital’s development for years. A video report by journalist Mykhailo Tkach highlighted the presence of Vadym Stolar, whose name often appears in critical materials regarding urban development in Kyiv. According to sources, Stolar became the godfather of Vagif Aliyev’s son.
The presence of Vitaliy Klitschko at such events did not go unnoticed by the public. Although the mayor stated in his comments that he has the right to spend his free time as he sees fit, discussions about his connections with major developers, including Vadym Stolar and Vagif Aliyev, have been ongoing in society for a long time.

At the same time, Kyiv has been embroiled in disputes for several years over chaotic development, the emergence of large shopping and entertainment centers, and issues of transparency in land allocation.
Ten days after the celebration, Vitaliy Klitschko signed an order for the reconstruction of the exits from the “Akademmistechko” metro station. According to civic activists, the exits are planned to be updated for a future shopping and entertainment center to be built by LLC “Grotto.” Until recently, Vadym Stolar, a long-time acquaintance of Mayor Klitschko and godfather of Vagif Aliyev, was the beneficiary of this company.
The construction site is located directly by the metro exit, and according to the community “Passengers of Kyiv,” there is a possibility that the path from the subway will now lead through the shopping center. This raises concerns among residents about potential inconveniences during construction, risks to passenger safety, and the potential closure of the station in case of emergencies in the future shopping center.
The increase in the number of shopping and entertainment centers in Kyiv, along with the close interaction between representatives of power and developers, once again draws attention to issues of transparency and the interests of the community.
