The Agent Adjusted Enemy Attacks on Energy Facilities in Kyiv
The investigation established that the man was recruited by Russian and Belarusian special services through Telegram channels, where he left pro-Kremlin comments. At the request of the Belarusian border committee, the agent conducted surveillance on the locations of the Defense Forces and gathered information about critical energy facilities in Kyiv.
In particular, he monitored one of the capital’s thermal power plants (CHP) from his apartment and later conducted additional reconnaissance near this energy facility to assess its condition after enemy shelling. The collected data was transmitted to the Russian special services for more accurate missile strikes on the Kyiv CHP.
“Based on information from this agent, the occupiers hoped to incapacitate key energy-generating enterprises that heat most of the residential and social infrastructure of Kyiv.”
Planned Escape After Completing Tasks
The man intended to leave the territory of Ukraine after completing his tasks. For this purpose, he prepared a tactical backpack with essential items, which he planned to use during an attempt to illegally cross the border. However, the SBU employees timely uncovered his criminal activities and detained him at his residence in Kyiv. At the same time, measures were taken to protect potential targets that could become the next objectives of the enemy.
According to investigators, the detainee worked as a laborer and acted in favor of the special services of Russia and Belarus, knowingly endangering the vital infrastructure of the capital.
