On the night of November 29, Kyiv and the surrounding region became the primary target of a powerful attack using drones and missiles. The alarm lasted for over 10 hours. As a result of the shelling, two men from the Svyatoshynskyi and Darnytskyi districts were killed, and 37 people were injured, of whom 15 were hospitalized. Among the victims is a 10-year-old boy from the Svyatoshynskyi district, who was diagnosed with burns and acute stress reaction.
“As a result of the attack, we have 18 locations with damage across 7 districts of the city,” wrote Timur Tkachenko.
Damage has been recorded in seven districts of the capital, where residential buildings, private homes, and vehicles were affected. The most severe destruction occurred in the Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Svyatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Obolonskyi districts. Fires broke out in high-rise buildings, and the private sector suffered significant losses from the flames.
Emergency Assistance and Recovery
All affected areas received assistance from emergency response teams deployed at the sites of housing damage. Municipal and social services are working at locations in Svyatoshynskyi (Chistyakivska St., 18), Darnytskyi (Kharkivske Shosse, 21), Solomianskyi (Povitryanykh Syl Ave., 41), and two points in the Holosiivskyi district (Horikhivatka St., 11 and Zabolotnoho St., 20a). The coordination of actions is ensured by the heads of district administrations.
Due to damage to the energy infrastructure, about 500,000 residents of the capital were left without electricity. The outages affected parts of the Obolonskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Podilskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Svyatoshynskyi districts.
Scale of the Air Attack and Air Defense Response
According to the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the night, 632 targets were detected and tracked over Kyiv and the region, including 36 missiles and 596 drones launched by Russia from various directions: Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea.
The attack involved 5 air-launched ballistic missiles Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal”, 23 cruise missiles Kh-101/Iskander-K, 4 ballistic missiles “Iskander-M”, and 4 guided air-to-surface missiles Kh-59/69. Aviation units, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare forces, and mobile groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine participated in repelling the air assault.

Despite the effective work of air defense, missile strikes and 35 attack drones were recorded at 22 locations, and debris from downed munitions fell on another 17 sites.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv city prosecutor’s office, law enforcement agencies have initiated a pre-trial investigation into yet another war crime by the Russian Federation, during which civilians were killed (part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
