“Being the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine has been the honor of my life. I think back to May 2022 and remember arriving in a country that was engaged in an existential struggle for survival. In those early days, the mission was simple: to help Ukraine remain free.”
Achievements and Support for Ukraine During Her Tenure
According to her, over the past three years, the U.S. has actively assisted Ukrainians in defending their territories and holding the front line, supporting efforts to liberate occupied areas, as well as facilitating the restoration of Ukraine’s energy system and ensuring trade in the Black Sea. Brink emphasized that support for reforms in the country has contributed to Ukraine’s progress toward European Union membership and improved the investment climate for American companies.
She added: “Ukraine has rightfully earned a reputation as a brave nation that belongs in Europe – a sovereign partner, strong, resilient, and innovative. But the work is not finished. We support a just and sustainable peace.”
Brink also thanked her partners and her team at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv for their support and collaboration over the past three years. She has led the American embassy in the Ukrainian capital since June 2022.
Future Plans and Resignation
According to reports from American media, on April 10, CBS News reported that Bridget Brink intends to resign from her position early. This was confirmed by sources in the U.S. State Department, noting her intention to step down.
