Beating of a Soldier in Hydropark: Four Teenagers Suspected of Hooliganism

In the capital, a fight occurred in Hydropark involving minors. According to the Kyiv prosecutor’s office, four teenagers, including two 17-year-olds and one 15-year-old, are suspected of committing hooligan acts, which could lead to up to 4 years of imprisonment.

Law enforcement officials reported that all four suspects have already been informed of their suspicion of committing group hooliganism under part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A request for the possible imposition of a preventive measure in the form of house arrest has also been submitted to the court.

Events in Hydropark and Law Enforcement’s Response

According to preliminary information, on April 18, a group of teenagers, consisting of three 17-year-olds and one 15-year-old boy, provoked a conflict in the park with a National Guard soldier who was on vacation in the capital at the time. The soldier serves in one of the units and was an accidental participant in the incident.

Witnesses report that initially a dispute arose between the teenagers and other visitors, which later escalated into a fight with the soldier.

“According to eyewitnesses, the teenagers first argued with other men, and later started a conflict with the soldier. Moreover, witnesses recorded video footage of the clash.”

The incident has already attracted the attention of law enforcement agencies, which are responding promptly and taking measures in accordance with the law.
