Circumstances of the Tragedy During the Medical Procedure

The woman sought treatment at a private medical facility in Podil, where she underwent plastic surgery on the same day. During the procedure, the patient’s blood pressure suddenly dropped, leading to cardiac arrest. Medical staff attempted resuscitation efforts, but were unable to save her life.

Results of the Examination and Qualification of the Doctor’s Actions

A comprehensive forensic medical examination revealed that during the surgery, a Klein solution was used, which contained longocaine instead of lidocaine at a dosage significantly exceeding permissible limits.

“According to the experts’ conclusions, this, along with other violations of medical assistance protocols, was the cause of the patient’s death.”

The investigation has classified the doctor’s actions under Part 1 of Article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — improper performance of a medical worker’s professional duties due to negligence, resulting in serious consequences for the patient.
