Court Rejects Motion to Investigate Lohvynskyi Case for the Second Time

Суд знову розглянув справу екснардепа Логвинського

The High Anti-Corruption Court has once again considered the motion from the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) regarding the conduct of a special pre-trial investigation into former Member of Parliament Heorhii Lohvynskyi. Lohvynskyi also serves as a non-staff advisor to Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko.

This motion has been rejected for the second time, as SAP previously appealed the earlier denial in the appellate court. The appellate chamber decided to return the case for reconsideration to the first instance court.

Ongoing Struggle for Special Investigation

The situation regarding the granting of permission for a special pre-trial investigation into Lohvynskyi has been ongoing since December 2023. Granting such permission could allow for the investigation to be completed in absentia and subsequently forwarded to the High Anti-Corruption Court.

Evading Justice

It is also worth noting that Lohvynskyi has been evading justice for an extended period. Despite Vitalii Klitschko’s invitation to join the team for legal consultations, he has not appeared for summonses to the High Anti-Corruption Court. The question of his participation in the process remains open.
