In Kyiv, law enforcement successfully halted the activities of a group of criminals who were trying to profit from processes in the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In a context where the leadership of these institutions strives to make services transparent and accessible to citizens, certain individuals exploit their influence to gain illegal benefits, which inflicts reputational damage on the institution.

Arrest of Criminals Trading Influence

In the capital, the activities of three men who abused their influence in the territorial service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were dismantled. One of them, a 31-year-old resident of Kyiv, was exposed by operatives from the Department of Internal Security of the National Police in collaboration with investigators from the Holosiivskyi Police Department for engaging in corrupt activities. According to law enforcement, the criminal promised to quickly re-register a vehicle for money, bypassing the electronic queue and bureaucratic procedures, as well as without the presence of the new owner. After receiving the funds, he was arrested.

Illegal Acquisition of Driver’s Licenses and Evidence Collection

Additionally, operatives identified the involvement of two more men who offered to resolve issues regarding obtaining a passing score on the practical driving test. The service cost between 10,000 and 17,000 hryvnias and was provided without the need to attend a driving school. During searches of the suspects, law enforcement seized a significant amount of money in various currencies, as well as documents and records confirming illegal activities. The collected evidence indicates a systemic corruption scheme that has been dismantled.
