The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov officially confirmed that the next round of trilateral negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine, the USA, and the Russian Federation will take place on February 1 in Abu Dhabi. He stated this during a conversation with journalists, emphasizing the importance and complexity of the upcoming meeting.

Negotiations to End the War: Key Details

Peskov highlighted that these negotiations are “sensitive and very complex,” indicating the significance of the issues being discussed for all parties involved. The previous round of negotiations involving the USA, Russia, and Ukraine took place on January 23 and 24, also in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Key representatives participated in these negotiations: the Russian side was led by the head of military intelligence GRU, while the Ukrainian delegation included high-ranking officials, including the head of the President’s Office and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously stated that the negotiations would continue this week, and an American publication noted that the parties are close to a possible personal meeting between the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia. One of the publication’s sources even claimed that they are “very close to a meeting between Putin and Zelensky.”

Statements Regarding a Personal Meeting of the Leaders

Peskov described the negotiations as “sensitive and very complex.”

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated on January 28 that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wishes to meet with Vladimir Putin, such a meeting is possible in Moscow, where he would be promised security guarantees. At the same time, Zelensky has repeatedly emphasized that he is ready for a personal meeting with Putin, but not in the Russian capital.
