Details of the new sanctions restrictions
According to decrees No. 447/2026 and No. 448/2026, Ukraine synchronized EU sanctions within the 20th package, which concern 120 individuals and legal entities. These measures target key sectors of the economy of the Russian Federation, including the defense industry, software production, drone components, as well as oil, gas, and gold extraction.
“Some of them are already under sanctions from Ukraine. Today’s decision concerns another 16 citizens of Russia and 31 companies from Russia, Belarus, the UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.”
The list of individuals includes leaders of strategic enterprises, budget institutions, units of the Russian army, and individuals collaborating with the occupying authorities in the temporarily seized territories of Ukraine. Among the companies under sanctions is LLC “Atlant Aero,” which manufactures aerospace products and components for drones, as well as LLC “Irz-Zvyazok,” which specializes in communication systems and parts for UAVs and missiles.
Sanctions against Iran, Sudan, and other countries
The sanctions also affected 19 citizens of Iran, 7 citizens of Sudan, and 11 Iranian companies operating in the field of ballistic missile and drone production. Companies from the UAE involved in the sale of laboratory equipment, chemical products, and aviation spare parts, as well as Belarusian oil exporters, were also sanctioned.
Among the Russians sanctioned are prosecutor Lyudmila Balandina, who is involved in repression and human rights violations against Ukrainian supporters and critics of the Russian authorities; judge Dmitry Gordeyev, who issued politically motivated sentences against opposition members and human rights defenders; as well as editor and propagandist Maria Sittel, who systematically spread disinformation.
With the new sanctions, Ukraine is increasing pressure on the Russian military-industrial complex and Kremlin partners, synchronizing its actions with the European Union’s policy to counter aggression and international violations.
