Journalists from the YouTube project «In the Shadow of the Chestnut Tree» conducted a detailed investigation into the events surrounding the dismissal of Volodymyr Bondarenko, who previously held the position of Secretary of the Kyiv City Council. They found out that after his dismissal, he was accepted into the ranks of the political force of the capital’s mayor Vitali Klitschko – the UDAR party.

What is Known About Bondarenko’s Future
According to the journalists, Volodymyr Bondarenko ended up in the “UDAR,” which, they say, is a typical path for many officials who are dismissed for various reasons.
“Where do corrupt officials, subjects of wiretaps, and participants in schemes for the embezzlement of Kyiv end up after dismissal? Correct – after dismissal, they end up in the «UDAR»”
. This means that the politician gains a new political platform for further activity.
Financial and Political Consequences of the Dismissal
Journalists note that deputies from EU and UDAR allowed Bondarenko to resign voluntarily, and he will also be able to receive compensation for unused vacation days, of which, according to the mayor’s order, he has 52. This means he will receive approximately one and a half salaries, the financial costs of which will be borne by the capital’s taxpayers.
At the same time, journalists emphasize that this does not mean the end of Bondarenko’s political career. They stress that the dismissal will not halt processes in Kyiv, particularly in the area of land use and land grabbing.
