Finnish President Alexander Stubb has arrived in the capital of Ukraine along with his wife, Suzanne Innes-Stubb. The visit was announced by the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiga.

According to Andriy Sybiga, during the negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the parties will discuss issues of European security and integration, as well as transatlantic pressure on Russia and joint steps towards establishing sustainable peace. The Foreign Ministry representative expressed gratitude to Finland for its support of Ukraine, its active position in the OSCE, and its principled stance regarding the condemnation of the aggressive actions of the Russian Federation.
“The presidents (Zelensky and Stubb – ed.) will discuss the current situation in Ukraine, efforts to end Russia’s illegal aggressive war, and Finland’s support for Ukraine. Finland is working within the Coalition of the Willing and is participating in the preparation of security measures,” the announcement states.
Commemoration and Participation in International Events
During the visit, the presidents of Ukraine and Finland jointly honored the memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers in Kyiv. Additionally, the wife of the Finnish president, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, participated in the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen organized by Olena Zelenska. This event is dedicated to discussing current humanitarian and social initiatives.
Finland continues to consistently support Ukraine on the international stage. Alexander Stubb is actively involved in negotiations among EU leaders with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the peaceful resolution of the situation and providing assistance to Ukraine.
