The former director of the Transport Infrastructure Department of the Kyiv City State Administration has been notified of suspicion of official negligence. The Podil District Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the proceedings in this case.
Details of the Purchase and the Future of the Parking Facility
In 2017, the Transport Infrastructure Department of the Kyiv City State Administration purchased a rotary parking facility for 10 vehicles at a cost of 3.6 million hryvnias. However, it later became clear that no unit of the Kyiv City State Administration had a need for such equipment, and thus the issue of its placement was never resolved.
Write-off of Equipment and Prosecutor’s Conclusions
The rotary parking facility was never assembled and has been sitting in storage since 2017. Over time, the metal structures rusted and became unusable, leading to the decision to write off the parking facility. However, according to technical specifications, its operational lifespan was supposed to be at least 15 years.
“Over time, it became impossible to use the purchased parking facility due to deterioration; the unassembled structures rusted, so it was written off. At the same time, according to the technical specifications, with proper use, the metal structures of such a parking facility should have lasted at least 15 years,” the prosecutor’s office explained.
