Organization of Illegal Business
Law enforcement officers arrested a 31-year-old resident of the capital who had set up a laboratory for growing psychotropic mushrooms in his own apartment. He carefully masked the substances by adding psilocybin mushrooms to chocolate bars, which he then sold in the Kyiv area. Sales were conducted in person – the perpetrator handed over the goods directly to customers. Additionally, he sold some of the mushrooms in their “pure” form and sought clients through his circle of acquaintances.

Seizure of Substances and Evidence
During the search, the police discovered and seized chocolate bars containing psychotropic mushrooms, dried mushrooms, growing containers, zip bags with spores, containers with mycelium, as well as zip bags with cannabis and the psychotropic substance kratom. Furthermore, among the evidence, cash obtained from illegal activities was found.

“According to preliminary estimates, the value of the seized substances on the ‘black’ market exceeds one million hryvnias.”
Investigative actions are currently ongoing to establish all circumstances and possible accomplices. The offender faces criminal liability for the illegal production and sale of narcotic and psychotropic substances.
