German and Lithuanian Foreign Ministers Meet in Kyiv

The German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock arrived in Kyiv for an unannounced visit. This marks Baerbock’s ninth trip to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion in February 2022. According to sources, the information about the visit was not disclosed in advance due to security concerns.

Support for Ukraine from Lithuania

Additionally, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys also arrived in the Ukrainian capital. In his message on social media platform X, he expressed support for Ukraine:

“I have arrived in free Kyiv to express Lithuania’s unwavering support for the brave Ukrainian people. We will continue to stand by you in your fight for freedom and sovereignty. Lithuania supports a strong, resilient, and prosperous Ukraine in the EU. Together to victory!”

Military Assistance from Lithuania and Germany

Lithuania and Germany continue to actively support Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. According to government data, Lithuania has provided military assistance to Ukraine amounting to over 769 million euros, with total support from Lithuania reaching 1.5 billion euros.

Germany, in turn, is one of the main donors providing assistance to Ukraine. As of December 2024, Germany has provided approximately 37 billion euros to Ukraine.
