The heating season in the residential sector begins today in Kyiv

Starting today, the capital officially begins supplying heat to residential buildings. According to the city authorities, the decision to start the heating season in the residential sector was made considering the forecasted drop in temperature.
“On October 29, Kyiv will begin the heating season in the residential sector,” the statement reads.
Technological features of the heating supply launch
The Kyiv City State Administration explained that a full launch of the heating supply system requires up to seven days. This is the time needed to gradually connect all residential buildings to the centralized heating system, in order to avoid emergencies and ensure a stable supply of heat to residents.
Heating for social institutions has already been connected
The KCSA reminded that social institutions, including hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and other facilities, began receiving heat as early as the beginning of October. The supply of heat to these institutions started on October 3 based on individual requests from their managers. This approach allowed for the provision of an appropriate temperature regime for the most vulnerable categories of Kyiv residents even before the heating season in residential buildings began.
The city authorities urge residents to be attentive and to contact management companies if they have any questions regarding heating supply.
