New Transit Center for Evacuated Individuals

The Kyiv City Military Administration, in collaboration with the public organization “Pluriton,” has begun working together to create a special hub for internally displaced persons. This was announced by the head of the KVMU, Timur Tkachенко. He emphasized that the capital, as the largest transit hub in the country, must provide support to all those fleeing from the war.

The public organization “Pluriton,” led by Kateryna Arisa, is actively developing a network of transit centers for Ukrainians who have been forced to leave their homes due to hostilities. In these hubs, operating on the principle of a “one-stop shop,” people receive comprehensive assistance: social support, legal consultations, psychological, medical, and other types of support. Special attention is given to children and the elderly who require additional care.

Challenges and Prospects for Support

According to Timur Tkachенко, in the fourth year of the large-scale war, Kyiv still lacks a centralized system for receiving internally displaced persons. The absence of a housing program and necessary services remains a pressing issue for the city. Therefore, the KVMU is actively seeking partners to gradually address these challenges and provide support for everyone in need.

“None of our citizens deserve to be left without support. Therefore, the capital, as the largest transit hub, is creating such a hub where those affected by the war can receive it. And the organization ‘Pluriton’ has agreed to be there. We have formalized our intentions with a memorandum (in the photo), and we are starting a joint project that will eventually provide support to evacuees arriving in Kyiv by train,” states Timur Tkachенко.
