Mobile shelters are being considered in Kyiv

The city authorities of the capital have officially confirmed their intentions to install mobile shelters in areas where there are no stationary bomb shelters. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klychko noted that funds remaining unused in the accounts of the city district administrations will be allocated for the implementation of this project.
Kyiv District Administrations Will Receive New Tasks
According to Klychko, the funding for mobile shelters will be sourced from the reallocation of budget surpluses from the district administrations. He also expressed hope that the district leaders will manage the organization of procurement and installation of protective structures of appropriate quality.
“Mobile shelters are certainly necessary in places where it is not possible to arrange stationary ones. Therefore, the funds that the district administrations cannot use will be redirected to mobile shelters,” emphasized the mayor.
Support from the Leadership of the Kyiv City Military Administration and Next Steps
Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachенко positively assessed the change in the mayor’s position regarding the installation of mobile shelters. He emphasized that the relevant procedure is already being considered by the Defense Council to expedite the implementation of innovations in the capital.
Currently, all district administrations in Kyiv need to promptly update the list of locations where mobile shelters will be prioritized, especially in areas with large gatherings of people. This decision aims to enhance the safety of Kyiv residents in the event of emergencies.
