The System of Old Agreements

The head of the permanent commission on budget, socio-economic development, and investment activities of the Kyiv City Council, Andriy Vitrenko, expressed his position on social media, emphasizing that the existing system involved political barter and instructions from third parties who have no status in the city council. Vitrenko noted that ignoring this issue is dangerous and affects the reputation of the authorities.

“Tomorrow, each of us must decide whose side we are on — transparency and accountability or maintaining the status quo,” Vitrenko emphasized.

Voting Against Corruption

The deputy also highlights the importance of voting for Bondarenko’s resignation, considering it a step in the fight against the legacy of corruption. He pointed out that failing to support this initiative means preserving existing corrupt practices. Vitrenko urged his colleagues not to remain indifferent.

It is worth noting that Volodymyr Bondarenko submitted a request on March 13 to be suspended from his duties during the pre-trial investigation that began in early March. Earlier, the Kyiv City State Administration underwent significant personnel changes due to suspicions of corrupt schemes. Operation “Clean City” led to the arrests of several officials and the disclosure of information about significant sums of money seized during searches.
