Kyiv’s Lokomotiv Fined for Safety Violations in Ukrainian Cup Match

The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association (CDC UAF) has decided to fine the football club Lokomotiv from Kyiv for violations during the Vbet Ukrainian Cup match for the 2025/2026 season.

Reasons for the Fine Against Lokomotiv

During the CDC meeting, materials regarding the match between Lokomotiv (Kyiv) and Veres (Rivne) in the 1/16 finals of the Vbet Ukrainian Cup were reviewed. The club was ordered to pay a mandatory monetary contribution of twenty thousand hryvnias for repeated non-compliance with additional safety measures. In particular, this concerns exceeding the maximum allowed number of spectators at the stadium during the state of war.

Additionally, Lokomotiv must pay another fine of twenty thousand hryvnias for the repeated intrusion of unauthorized persons into the playing area during the match.

Club Achievements and Match Details

On September 24, Kyiv’s Lokomotiv managed to defeat the Premier League club Veres in the 1/16 finals of the Ukrainian Cup. The only goal in the match was scored by Bohdan Mordas, who successfully converted a penalty, and in the second half, the team was able to maintain their advantage and secure the victory.

“Lokomotiv plays in the Ukrainian Second League, the most famous football club in Kyiv before the emergence of Dynamo. It was founded in 1919. The team plays its home matches at the capital’s Bannikov Stadium,” the football club’s website states.
