In the capital, law enforcement uncovered a large network of drug laboratories engaged in the production of amphetamine. According to the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, the perpetrators set up several laboratories in apartments and garages in the Desnyanskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts of the city, as well as in a private house in the Kyiv region. They produced about 10 kilograms of psychotropic substances each month, generating a profit of approximately 3 million hryvnias.

According to the investigation materials, this activity was organized by two residents of the capital aged 40 and 50, along with accomplices.
«During the searches, laboratory equipment for the production of psychotropic substances, amphetamine, precursors, electronic scales, packaging materials, money, as well as the vehicles of the group members were seized. Additionally, one of the individuals involved in the distribution of amphetamine had a rifle, 2 grenades, and a TNT explosive device confiscated».
Law enforcement measures and charges
Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding the activities of the organized group under articles that provide for the illegal production and sale of narcotic and precursor substances in particularly large quantities. Nine participants in the criminal scheme have been notified of suspicion under parts 3 of articles 307 and 311 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The owner of the rifle and grenades is additionally charged with illegal handling of weapons and ammunition (article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Currently, eight suspects are in custody without the right to bail, while one participant is under round-the-clock house arrest. This once again underscores the seriousness of measures to combat drug trafficking and illegal arms circulation in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
