On the first day of April, Kyiv experienced a record amount of precipitation, totaling 18.1 mm. This led to the establishment of a new record, as this figure exceeds the previous record from 1891, when 14.6 mm of rain fell on the same day.

According to data from the Central Geophysical Observatory named after Boris Sreznevsky, the precipitation for April 1 accounts for 43% of the monthly norm. Such a significant increase in precipitation indicates sharp changes in the weather conditions of the capital.
“This is 3.5 mm more than the previous record from 1891 for this date, when 14.6 mm of precipitation was recorded,” the statement reads.
