A fire occurred in a nine-story dormitory in Podil, Kyiv. The incident took place at night when, at 01:29, the Operational Coordination Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv received a report of a fire on Syretska Street.

According to rescuers, the fire started in the electrical panel on the 8th floor, from where it spread to an apartment and the electrical panel on the 9th floor. As a result of the incident, one apartment was completely burned, and the electrical panels on the 8th and 9th floors were damaged. The walls and ceiling of the common corridors were blackened by smoke.
The fire was localized at 02:32 over an area of 40 square meters and was extinguished by 02:37. A total of 29 rescuers and 7 units of equipment were on site.
During the firefighting efforts, rescuers evacuated ten people from the upper floors to fresh air, including two children. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
