Almost half of all divorces in Ukraine occur in five key regions

In the first half of 2025, Ukrainians officially dissolved at least 38,671 marriages through the courts. Kyiv ranked second among regions for the number of divorces, surpassed only by Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Leads, Kyiv in Second Place
During this period, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast recorded 5,188 court decisions regarding divorce, making it the leader in this category. The capital came in second, with the courts documenting 3,544 divorce cases. Odesa Oblast secured third place with 3,121 divorce rulings.

In total, the five regions — Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv Oblasts, and Kyiv — account for 45% of all divorces in the country.
Western Regions Show the Lowest Rates
In the western regions, the rates of divorce remain low. In particular, the courts in Zakarpattia Oblast reviewed 777 divorce cases, while in Volyn Oblast, there were 829, which are among the lowest figures in the country.
