Attempt to appropriate inheritance through a forged marriage

After the death of a 51-year-old resident of the capital, a three-room apartment in the Solomianskyi district was supposed to pass into the ownership of the territorial community as unclaimed inheritance. However, two individuals decided to fraudulently acquire this property. They involved an acquaintance who provided personal data and organized the creation of a forged marriage certificate with the deceased. The document was dated 1998, and the place of marriage was indicated as the Russian Federation.

Sale of the apartment and detention of the suspects

Relying on the fake document, the so-called “widower” registered ownership of the apartment, after which it was sold. As a result of the criminal scheme, the territorial community of Kyiv suffered losses amounting to over 2.7 million hryvnias.

“With the fake document, the so-called ‘widower’ registered ownership in his name and later sold the apartment. Thus, the territorial community incurred losses of over 2.7 million hryvnias.”

The perpetrators were detained immediately after the transaction. The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention.
