The long-standing saga regarding the future of the production facilities of the First Kyiv Machine-Building Plant, formerly known as ‘Bolshevik’, is coming to an end. Soon, one of the key structures of the enterprise will be demolished as part of a large-scale reconstruction of the area’s transport infrastructure.
Cost and details of the demolition
Following the conducted tender, the Directorate for the Construction of Road Transport Facilities in Kyiv has signed a contract with the consortium ‘Prombud Technology’ to carry out the demolition work. The total amount of the contract is 121.12 million hryvnias, which will be allocated from the city budget.
“It is planned to demolish the brick chimneys, the annex, the foundry and trimming workshops, the warehouse, and the building with a basement. This is necessary to complete the reconstruction of the Shulyavsky overpass interchange.”
The demolition will include brick chimneys, the annex, the foundry and trimming workshops, storage facilities, and the building with basement premises. Carrying out this work is an important step towards completing the reconstruction of the Shulyavsky overpass, which is one of Kyiv’s key transport arteries.
Previous attempts and tender winner
The story of the workshop’s demolition began two years ago when a preliminary tender was held with an expected cost of 93.38 million hryvnias. At that time, the company ‘Mostytsky 2’ won with a bid of 91.14 million hryvnias, but the agreement was terminated by mutual consent of the parties.
This time, the winner has been determined as the Kyiv consortium ‘Prombud Technology’, established in December 2024. It includes LLC ‘D-Group Construction’ led by Oleksiy Ivants and the construction company ‘Aurum’ with director Andriy Nesterov.
