A large-scale underground production of counterfeit alcohol has been uncovered in the capital: law enforcement seized a significant volume of illegal products and raw materials.

Uncovering the illegal alcohol production scheme
Detectives from the capital’s Bureau of Economic Security established the fact that an illegal workshop for the production of counterfeit alcohol was operating in Kyiv. According to law enforcement data, a group of organizers set up the production and sale of alcoholic beverages without any permits. The finished “products” were even sold through legal retail outlets in the city.
Seizure of equipment and the scale of underground activities
During searches at the locations of the illegal activities, specialized equipment for alcohol production was found and seized, as well as nearly 13,900 liters of already finished counterfeit products and 1,800 liters of ethyl alcohol. In addition, detectives seized accounting records, mobile phones, and computer equipment containing evidence of illegal activities.
Currently, in the criminal proceedings initiated for the illegal production, storage, sale, or transportation of excise goods, forensic examinations have been appointed. Authorities are also identifying all individuals involved in organizing the illegal scheme.
