Electricity Procurement for Stable Zoo Operations
Kyiv Zoo has announced plans to purchase 3 million kWh of electricity, which will allow it to maintain the necessary conditions for animal care over the next year. A budget of 30.6 million hryvnias has been allocated for this purpose. The electricity procurement will be conducted through a tender, the details of which have been published on the state procurement electronic platform Prozorro.
According to the official tender documentation, the zoo, as the customer, is utilizing the services of PrJSC “DTEK Kyiv Electric Networks.” The choice of this supplier is due to the fact that the zoo’s substations are connected to this power grid. The electricity supply contract is set to last until December 31, 2026, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the facility and comfort for its residents.
The Importance of Stable Electricity Supply for the Zoo
“The capital zoo is ready to purchase 3 million kWh of electricity over the next year, which will cost 30.6 million hryvnias.”
Ensuring the zoo has an adequate supply of electricity is critically important for maintaining optimal conditions for animal care, as well as for the operation of heating, lighting, and life support systems. Prompt preparation for signing a new agreement will allow the capital zoo to avoid operational disruptions even during peak loads or potential electricity supply restrictions.
