The lawsuit regarding the division of property between Marina and Petro Poroshenko has sparked much discussion in political circles and the media. According to an official statement from the “European Solidarity” party, this is a result of a joint strategy to protect the family from attempts to block funding for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and political activities. The statement emphasizes that this case is purely an internal family procedure aimed at maintaining financial stability and supporting state initiatives.

“Since (Ukrainian President) Zelensky has prohibited Petro Poroshenko from conducting any transactions, even paying taxes, through his sanctions decree, unblocking funding for the Poroshenko Charity Fund is only possible through a corresponding court decision. Petro and Marina Poroshenko have informed the court that there is no dispute regarding the terms of division between them, so the court has no grounds not to satisfy the lawsuit as early as next week,” the statement reads.
Case Review and Denial of Divorce Rumors
It was previously reported that the Kryzhopil District Court in the Vinnytsia region will hear the case regarding the division of Poroshenko’s property on April 29. The lawsuit was filed by Marina Poroshenko in March, and the amount in question is approximately 17.1 billion hryvnias. At the same time, the party assured that rumors about a possible divorce of the couple are unfounded, and their marriage remains strong and filled with love, mutual support, and respect for over 40 years.
Meanwhile, in February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky approved a decision by the National Security and Defense Council regarding sanctions against Poroshenko and other individuals, which sparked outrage from the opposition. Government representatives consider these measures a response to the trade of the country, while Poroshenko himself called the decision “unconstitutional and politically motivated.” Human rights organizations criticize the imposition of sanctions as a political reprisal that violates fundamental principles of law, the constitution, and Ukraine’s international obligations.
