The international ranking system URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance) has updated its classification of approximately three thousand higher education institutions from around the world. This system is one of the most comprehensive in the world and evaluates exclusively the academic quality and research productivity of universities. It does not take into account reputation surveys and is based on open and verified sources.

Results of Ukrainian Universities in the World Ranking
According to the ranking, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv ranked 1525th and demonstrated the best result among all Ukrainian higher education institutions. The following also made it into the top two thousand:
- Sumi State University — 2176th place;
- V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University — 2593rd place;
- National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” — 2695th place;
- Ivan Franko National University of Lviv — 2817th place.
Significance of the Results for Ukrainian Science and Education
According to official information, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv emphasizes that a high position in the world ranking is an important achievement for Ukraine and the academic community. The university’s website states that the goal of URAP is not to create a list of “best” or “worst” universities, but to help institutions better understand their strengths and areas for improvement, stimulating competition for quality rather than for formal indicators.
