Preparation for the large-scale renovation of Podilskyi Descent begins in Kyiv

The capital’s communal enterprise “Road Maintenance and Repair Administration of the Shevchenkivskyi District” has announced a tender to find a contractor to carry out the major renovation of Podilskyi Descent. Over 10 million hryvnias have been allocated for these works.
What exactly is planned for renovation
According to the tender conditions, a comprehensive replacement of the road surface is planned, involving the complete removal of the old asphalt layer. In addition, the replacement of manhole covers and concrete slabs, the installation of stormwater catch basins, the laying of new asphalt concrete layers, the installation of new curbs, as well as the repair of pedestrian sidewalks and other related works are also planned.
Completion timelines and quality requirements
According to the tender documentation, the warranty period for the new cast iron manhole covers and the concrete slabs underneath them must be at least 10 years, while the asphalt concrete surface should last a minimum of 3 years. All works must be completed by the end of this summer.
