The former deputy of the Kyiv City Council and well-known businessman Denis Komarnytsky, who is part of the close circle of billionaire Leonid Chernovetsky, has seen the end of his peaceful life in Austria. Law enforcement officials conducted searches at his residence in Vienna and interrogated the individual. It is believed that these actions were a response to an official request from Ukrainian investigative authorities.

Searches in Vienna and Arrests in the “Clean City” Case

Denis Komarnytsky is known as a person linked to large-scale shadow schemes in Kyiv. He had been in Austria for an extended period; however, recent events indicate an intensification of the investigation against him by Ukrainian and international law enforcement agencies. According to open sources, the searches and interrogation of Komarnytsky in Vienna were conducted as part of a criminal proceeding regarding land fraud in Kyiv.

“According to the Bihus.Info portal, law enforcement officials conducted searches of Komarnytsky in Vienna and also interrogated him. Clearly, this was done based on an official request from Ukrainian investigative authorities.”

Status of Other Individuals Involved and Their Situation

As part of this same case, several officials and deputies of the Kyiv City Council have found themselves in custody. Among them are Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Olenych, Head of the Land Commission of the Kyiv City Council Mykhailo Terentyev, Kyiv City Council deputy and member of the land commission Olena Marchenko, Deputy Director of KP “Kyivblagoustriy” Oleksiy Mushta, and the First Deputy Director of the “Spetszhytlofond” Yuriy Leonov.

However, the detention of the suspects was short-lived. As of March 18, all individuals involved in the “Clean City” case were released on bail. Following this, some of them continued to work in municipal structures. For instance, Mykhailo Terentyev, despite receiving a suspicion notice, still heads the land commission, and Olena Marchenko attends sessions of the Kyiv City Council. Petro Olenych has established a law firm and is attempting to protect his property through divorce, while former Kyiv City Council Secretary Volodymyr Bondarenko, despite a new suspicion, participates in meetings.
