The National Bank of Ukraine from August 21 is introducing updated 20 hryvnia banknotes featuring a patriotic slogan.

Features of the New 20 Hryvnia Banknotes
On the reverse side of the banknotes, in the upper right corner, the slogan is placed: ‘GLORY TO UKRAINE! GLORY TO THE HEROES!’. Other design elements and security features remain identical to the banknotes of the 2018 series. Detailed images and descriptions of the updated banknotes can be found on the official website of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Procedure for Introduction and Use
From August 21, 2025, the modified 20 hryvnia banknotes will be directed to support banks and cash-in transit companies for further distribution to clients, as well as for replacing worn, damaged, or withdrawn banknotes.
Citizens do not need to specifically exchange the previous series banknotes for the new ones. The updated banknotes, along with those from previous years, remain valid means of payment and must be accepted by all business entities and individuals within Ukraine at face value, without any restrictions for all types of payments and deposits to accounts.
Earlier, on August 8, 2024, modified banknotes of 500 and 1000 hryvnias were already introduced into circulation, and from August 23 of the same year — banknotes of 50 hryvnias. The release of updated banknotes of 100 and 200 hryvnias is planned for the coming years.
