In Kyiv, at the top of the historic Castle Hill, activists have personally set up a new observation deck. From now on, anyone interested can visit to see the breathtaking views of the capital and Podil.

Activists’ Initiative and Area Improvement

As reported by the director of the “Ancient Kyiv” reserve and head of the public organization “Ukraine Incognito,” Roman Malenkov, a group of concerned Kyiv residents tidied up the area at the top of Castle Hill. They cleared the territory, organized the burial site of the soldiers of the First Ukrainian Regiment named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, and improved the access to the deck. Thanks to these efforts, a new picturesque space for walking and outdoor relaxation has opened up.

“Kyiv once again has a wonderful observation deck… We began to organize the burial site of the soldiers of the First Ukrainian Regiment named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, cleared the paths, and opened a magical view of Podil,” wrote Malenkov. He added: “Come to Castle Hill — see it for yourself.”

Plans for August: Honoring the Memory of Heroes

According to Roman Malenkov, an event is planned on Castle Hill on August 12 to commemorate the anniversary of the burial of the Heroes. Activists invite everyone interested to join in honoring the memory of Ukrainian soldiers and to visit the updated space at the historic summit.

Thus, Castle Hill is once again becoming a focal point for residents and guests of Kyiv who wish to combine leisure with honoring the history of the city and its heroes.
