A New Parking Facility with Modern Payment Options Opens at Kyiv Central Station

Ціна «кусається»: на Центральному вокзалі запрацював великий автопаркінг

A large parking facility for cars has opened in Kyiv in the square near the Central Railway Station, now operating fully after a test launch. The parking area features 69 parking spaces, including those for people with disabilities, and there are plans to install charging stations for electric vehicles.

Features of the New Parking Facility and Payment Methods

The parking facility has two entrances and two exits, equipped with barriers. Drivers can pay for parking both cashless and in cash – but only through a terminal, which eliminates the need to hand money to third parties.

“No need to give money to anyone directly”.

The cost for one hour of parking is 80 hryvnias, which is comparable to the rates at private parking lots in the city center. A full day of parking costs 320 hryvnias, while overnight parking is 240 hryvnias.

Impact of Rates on Parking Usage

Experts from a public organization note that the established parking prices near the station have a deterrent effect – drivers will primarily use the parking facility for short-term drop-offs or pickups of passengers, rather than for long-term vehicle storage.

For those who are not satisfied with the new rates, municipal parking spaces are available on Vokzalna Street at a rate of 35 hryvnias per hour on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM; at other times, parking is free. Additionally, several dozen free parking spaces remain at the site of the demolished market.
