COVID-19 Cases Rise in Kyiv: Most Affected are People Aged 30-64

The incidence of coronavirus in the capital continues to rise: the highest number of cases has been recorded among adults aged 30 to 64 years.

In the first week of September, Kyiv reported 1232 cases of COVID-19, which is an increase of 15.4% compared to the previous period when 1068 infections were detected.

Age and Dynamics of Incidence

Among the total number of infected individuals – 1232 adults, which is significantly more than the previous week (849 cases). The number of infected children has also increased: 225 compared to 219. The highest number of cases is among individuals aged 30–64, accounting for over half of all cases.

Hospitalizations and Disease Progression

Despite the rise in the number of cases, the number of hospitalizations due to COVID-19 has decreased. Last week, 119 individuals were hospitalized, including 66 children, whereas the previous week there were 183 such cases. The intensive care units primarily contain patients aged 65 and older — from September 1 to 7, there were 11 such patients.

“In 2025, the incidence of COVID-19 remains 1.4 times LOWER than during the same period in 2024,” summarized the KMTS KPH.
