The Kyiv City Military Administration, in collaboration with the Maritime Administration, has developed and approved rules governing the movement of sports vessels, jet skis, and other recreational watercraft. The new requirements aim to ensure order and safety for all participants in water traffic.
Official Approval and Features of the New Rules
As reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко, the document has already been signed, and its full text will soon be available on the official city portal. According to the official, the new regulations include the designation of special zones for swimming on sports vessels, jet skis, and other water recreation activities.
“We have developed rules for Kyiv, coordinated them with the Maritime Administration, and today I signed them. The text of the order will later appear on the official Kyiv portal. We must now establish that there will be separate areas for swimming on sports vessels, jet skis, and other means of water recreation,” wrote Timur Tkachенко.
Reasons for Implementation and Responsibility for Violations
The head of the KMVA emphasized that similar rules did not exist in Kyiv before, although the obligation to approve them has been in place since August 2022. In other regions of the country, these regulations were adopted three years ago, but the process in the capital has been prolonged.
Once the new rules come into effect, the police will monitor compliance. Violators will be held accountable in accordance with current legislation.
