Espionage Activities and Uncovering
Cyber specialists from the SBU established that a Ukrainian citizen was gathering detailed information regarding the security systems of administrative buildings of the capital’s defense forces. During reconnaissance conducted directly near the Main Directorate of the National Guard, she was caught “in the act.”

The traitor was supposed to prepare a plan-scheme of the location of checkpoints and service parking lots located around the perimeter of the defense establishment and pass this information to her curator.

In addition to gathering data on the National Guard, she was also interested in the locations of military recruitment centers in various districts of Kyiv. The intelligence information obtained was planned to be used by the Russian Federation to organize new terrorist attacks and airstrikes on the capital.

The detainee turned out to be a 36-year-old resident of Kyiv. It is known that she was recruited remotely through an acquaintance from the temporarily occupied Crimea, who collaborates with the Russian Federation. For carrying out espionage tasks, the agent was counting on “evacuation” to Russia via third countries.
Law enforcement officers seized a smartphone from the suspect, which she used to communicate with her FSB curator. SBU investigators informed the detainee of her suspicion of treason and collaboration with the enemy.
