Soviet Postcards: Aviation in New Year Themes

A separate section of the exhibition is dedicated to Soviet holiday postcards with New Year greetings. These feature both fairy-tale scenes and images of real aircraft from the 1960s to the 1980s. At that time, the aviation and space themes on postcards also played an ideological role, highlighting the achievements of Soviet aviation and cosmonautics.

“The exhibition is partially designed in a space style. Here you can see New Year ornaments in the form of balloons, rockets, and astronauts made of papier-mâché; Christmas tree airplanes, helicopters, and hot air balloons made of tinsel; glass New Year ornaments and modern plastics. There is also a collectible snowflake from Boeing.”

The exhibition is open for viewing to all who wish to visit ahead of the holidays, creating an atmosphere of New Year magic infused with elements of aviation history and cosmic dreams.
