Video of the Violation Sparks Criminal Proceedings
Law enforcement in the capital intervened after a video surfaced on social media showing the dumping of leftover concrete from a concrete mixer directly into the Dnipro, near the construction site of the Podilsk-Voskresensky Bridge in Kyiv. The footage shows the driver ignoring the remarks of a witness who angrily protests against such actions.
“A video circulated on social media showing how leftover concrete is being dumped from a concrete mixer into the Dnipro, near the Podilsk-Voskresensky Bridge. The driver of the concrete mixer did not respond to the remarks of a man who was outraged by such actions.”
The Investigation is Ongoing
In connection with this incident, the Dnipro District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv has opened a criminal case under part 1 of Article 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to the pollution or degradation of land by substances or waste that may harm human health or the environment. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Dnipro Police Department of Kyiv. All circumstances of the incident are being clarified, and those responsible are expected to be held accountable under the law.
