The technical condition of the Ferris Wheel in Podil raises serious concerns due to the complete rotting of the wooden beams that form the foundation of the metal structure of the attraction.

Prosecutor Initiates Ban on Operation of the Attraction
The Podil District Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion in court demanding the seizure of the Ferris Wheel in Podil and prohibiting its further operation. According to the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, the condition of the wooden supports is critical and poses a real threat to visitors and staff.
Numerous Safety Violations Discovered
“In particular, it has been recorded that the wooden beams show signs of deep rot, structural damage to the wood, as well as traces of prolonged moisture exposure. Some of the beams are partially destroyed, have cavities, and crumble under mechanical impact,” the statement reads.
In light of the identified violations, a criminal proceeding has been opened under Part 2 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of safety regulations during work with increased danger. The investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Podil Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv.
