The offender faces up to eight years in prison for theft during martial law.

The pre-trial investigation has been completed in the capital regarding a 37-year-old resident of the Zaporizhia region, who is suspected of committing theft from a private house in Troieshchyna. The case has been referred to court.
Details of the Crime in the Desnyansky District
In early December, a resident of the Desnyansky district of Kyiv reported to the police that money and a robot vacuum had gone missing from his home. The offender broke into the house by damaging the window frame and then stole the valuables.
Arrest of the Suspect and the Fate of the Stolen Property
During operational measures, law enforcement officers identified the suspect. He turned out to be a previously convicted resident of the Zaporizhia region, who left for the Chernivtsi region after committing the crime. The stolen robot vacuum was found by operatives in a pawn shop in Chernivtsi and seized as evidence.
“The detained individual has been notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – theft committed under martial law conditions. The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years of imprisonment.”
Currently, the indictment has been sent to court. If proven guilty, the suspect faces a lengthy prison sentence.
