A large-scale airstrike occurred in Kyiv at night
On the night of December 27, the Russian Federation launched another massive attack on Kyiv. As a result of the shelling, residential buildings were damaged, and civilian infrastructure was destroyed and damaged in various areas of the capital.
Damage in Kyiv districts
According to operational data, at least seven locations in Kyiv experienced destruction and fires in the Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Solomianskyi, Obolonskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Desnianskyi districts. The Darnytskyi district suffered the most significant losses, where a drone hit a 24-story residential building, partially destroying the upper floors. In another part of the district, private houses caught fire, and the flames could spread to a nursing home. Additionally, vehicles in the area were on fire due to falling debris.
In the Dniprovskyi district, an 18-story residential building was damaged as a result of the attack. According to city authorities, a person may be trapped under the rubble on the fifth floor. Furthermore, a hit was recorded at a depot.
In the Solomianskyi district, damage was reported to a dormitory of one of the higher education institutions on the ninth floor. The attack also affected the Shevchenkivskyi district, where a drone damaged the top floor of a ten-story building.
Injured and consequences of the attack
“In other locations in the city, vehicles are on fire, a garage cooperative has been damaged, and windows have been shattered,” wrote the head of the Kyiv Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко, on his Telegram channel. He also reported damage on the first floor of a 9-story building in the Desnianskyi district.
As of 8:45 AM, eight people are known to have been injured, including a 16-year-old child. Due to the threat of repeated attacks, residents of the capital are urged to remain in shelters and not to go outside until the air alert is over.
