Starting today and for the next two days, pedestrian movement will be restricted in the underground passages at European Square and Independence Square in Kyiv. This measure has been implemented to carry out repair and cleaning work. This was reported by the municipal company “Kyivavtodor.”

Reason for Restrictions and Planned Work

The announcement states that “

“From April 16 to April 18, pedestrian movement will be partially restricted in the underground passages at Independence Square and European Square.”

” During this period, road workers will be engaged in cleaning the drainage pits and painting the ceilings of the underground passages to improve their condition and safety for residents and tourists.

Details of the Restrictions and Work Schedule

The movement restrictions will be in effect on April 16 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the underground passage at Independence Square, near the Lyadsky Gates. At the same time, from April 16 to April 18, movement will also be restricted at European Square — from the exit to Volodymyr Hill. These measures will allow for the necessary repair work to be carried out safely and efficiently, ensuring comfort and safety for pedestrians during the reconstruction.
