Romanian President Nicușor Dan to Visit Kyiv in Autumn at Zelensky’s Invitation

Romanian President Nicușor Dan has announced his intention to visit Kyiv this autumn. His visit will take place at the personal invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Support for Ukraine and Upcoming Visit

After a phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky, Nicușor Dan emphasized that Romania advocates for a fair, long-lasting, and sustainable peace agreement achieved through negotiations with Ukraine. He highlighted the importance of supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and noted that Ukraine’s security is closely linked to the security of the Black Sea and Europe as a whole.

“The agreement (peace) must be fair, long-lasting, and sustainable. Peace must be achieved with Ukraine at the negotiating table. Romania supports the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Ukraine’s security is closely tied to the security of the Black Sea and the security of Europe,” he wrote on social media platform X after his conversation with Zelensky.

The Romanian president also assured that the country will continue to provide comprehensive support to Ukraine in its pursuit of a just peace.

Cooperation Between Ukraine and Romania

Volodymyr Zelensky reported that during their conversation, the leaders agreed on further joint diplomatic steps, emphasizing the importance of European unity and the determination of international partners.

Nicușor Dan began his duties as President of Romania on May 26 after winning the runoff elections. In June, he already visited Ukraine, participating in the Ukraine – Southeast Europe summit held in Odesa.
