Mykola Polozov: Notable Cases and Persecution

Before the onset of Russia’s large-scale aggression against Ukraine, Mykola Polozov participated in the defense of high-profile cases. In particular, he was the lawyer for the members of the group Pussy Riot, public figure Serhiy Udaltsov, and Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko. Additionally, he defended 24 Ukrainian military sailors who were detained by Russian security forces in the Black Sea in 2018.

Increased Pressure and New Accusations

At the end of 2024, Mykola Polozov was also added to the register of so-called ‘foreign agents’ in Russia. In July 2025, it became known that he had been declared wanted on the territory of the Russian Federation.
